BLOG dealer spotlight Which e-bike would you choose for the Viking Trail
Ziggy & The Bike Shed, Margate in the Dealer Spotlight
The Bike Shed has been faithfully helping the folk of Margate and Kent with their E-bike test rides and purchases for over 6 years now. And they’ve built up a loyal customer base of keen cyclists for even longer. So we thought it was about time we brought the spotlight on this highly regarded bike shop…
1. What motivated you to open a bike shop & what makes your store unique?
A passion for service combined with a passion for bikes and engineering. Our absolute strength lies in the service and understanding we offer the customer. Our aim is to offer affordable services with an emphasis on our customers trusting us. Honesty is always the best policy and trust builds loyal customers.
2. How long have you been a VOLT Electric Bikes dealer, and what initially attracted you to the brand?
We have been a Volt dealer for the last six years. We love working with you guys as your customer ethos very much aligns with ours. Your warranty is still to this day the best I have seen and after seeing the way you look after your customers it gives us confidence that as a dealer and a customer the support network is there for both. Also it’s a pretty easy sell once you have someone sat on the bike. they just ride so nice…..
3. What is the funniest/strangest request you have ever had from a customer?
To put a petrol engine on an ebike when asked why, I was told to have the best of both worlds!
4. Tell us about a favourite local cycling adventure? Or your favourite local cycling route?
We are very lucky that we are situated on a 32 mile coastal circuit (the viking coastal trail) seen as one of the best in the country. From country lanes to promenade cruising, it really does have something for everyone.
5. Which is your favourite VOLT Bike and why?
Volt Pulse would be our favourite. Ready for anything anywhere anytime. Everything you could need for a small trip through to a long tour. comfort, style and silence. the three main words associated with any sale.
6. Can you provide any tips or recommendations for someone who is considering purchasing their first electric bike?
Best tip is make sure you speak to someone in person and make sure you test ride. A good sales person should identify what you need out of the bike and advise based on your requirements not based on the highest price. With regards to purchasing a Volt just do it… You won’t be disappointed.
7. What is your favourite poison (coffee, matcha, beer, tea, spirit, cocktail, energy drink, juice, etc.)?
Ashamed to say it’s energy drinks at work and unashamedly whiskey out of work.
8. How can our followers or potential customers engage with you directly or visit your dealership to test ride or learn more about electric bikes?
Find us on Facebook (TheBikeShedKent) or Instagram (THEBIKESHEDKENT_MARGATE) or at our test ride centre based at Margate Rail Station.
9. What’s the best way for people to experience VOLT ebikes at your store?
Come on down for a test ride. Experience comfort and style, leave with a smile :)
