This bike is designed for a more upright, comfortable riding position and is great for road and light off-road routes. Sadly it arrived with the back light not working and without the complimentary chain I had been promised and one of the cables came undone on my first ride out, so I suspect a tiny bit more time could be spent on the final check before dispatch, but there is a free service after the first 100 miles when I suspect all these snags will be sorted. I am looking forward to riding it more.

I was convinced, as I have always cycled that I did not need to, but for some reason my heal sometimes touches the bike stand. I slightly have to adjust my one foot. The bike is a lot heavier than a normal bike so although I feel electrically supported it is taken a little time to adjust. I live in a hilly windy area and the bike holds it's ground. It is different, feels still like a good work out and I am happy to cycle again. Thank you.
Didnt have to wait long for my bike. Was all ready for me from local bike shop to me. Really a great ride with elecric assistance for those hills and any cross wind. Cycles like a breeze

Fantastic company and their bike designs are really high quality too. I bought the Burlington bike almost a year ago now and it has never let me down. I've cycled all over Anglesey and North Wales (some serious hills!) and it's been great.
Volt also offer great aftercare: I had to put the bike in storage for a week and the storage company chipped it a little. Volt sent a free mini bottle of paint within days that fixed it up perfectly. I couldn't be happier. I have 2 friends who have either already bought Volt bikes or are about to buy them from my positive experience. I did a lot of research before I bought from Volt and I am so pleased that I bought my bike from them and no one else.
5’3” and 63, female. Big bike but I love it. High handles and suspension have stopped my dodgy wrists from hurting. Feels good cycling without assist too.
Downside is like most e bikes, it’s heavy to lift.

Really excellent and fast service. The website is easy to use and arranging a test ride at my local Volt dealer was easy to do. The local dealer was very knowledgeable, gave me so much time to ask questions, helped me out with a number of options and was very patient with me as someone who was totally new to the eBike world. As soon as I cycled the bike for the first time, I knew it was the one for me. It seems that Volt have thought of everything with all the engineering and thoughtful design. Once I ordered my bike was at the local dealer for assembly in 3 days and I was able to collect two days after that. The bike is still quite new to me but so far, so good!

I have had an ebike previously, but it had a crossbar and I have developed arthritis in my hip so was finding it uncomfortable to get on and off the bike. The Volt Burlington I now have is so easy to get onto as it is a step-through. It has make bike-riding pleasurable again. I thought it might take a while to get used to having a hub-mounted motor rather than a mid-mounted one. However, in no time, I've got used to the very slight delay and the surge as the power kicks in. It's whizzing me up the hills just as effectively as my other bike. And, I like the fact that Volt is a British company.

Prop-stand seems to have a weakness of some sort - it's fallen over, on level ground, 6 times, so far - though I've caught it on the way down on 4 of those occasions.
This might be why the rear brake seems to have slack in it .....
It's just like riding in an an armchair, very comfortable and easy to control. Have travelled 60 miles so far .

See on TrustpilotIt is great to explore so much further and no longer to fear steep hills. When on the flat I can switch off the power and make sure I get exercise. There is a start off power boost, useful when I have stopped on a hill or made the mistake of stopping in a high gear.

See on TrustpilotAs an enthusiastic cyclist since my youth and having reached an age where I would welcome a little help on the more challenging elements of my rides, I decided upon the purchase of an electric bike. Intensive study of information provided by manufacturers and media, my preference became centred on those manufactured by Volt Bikes. Primarily, this was because (a) I liked the look and design of their products and (b) In a market offering an excess of foreign machines I was keen to purchase a bike that had as high a percentage of U.K input as possible. From a design and manufacturing point of view, Volt satisfied both these parameters.
A test ride of a Volt Burlington was arranged with a very helpful and informed local dealer which proved to be a revelation. I was impressed with the build quality, componentry and finish of the machine and accordingly placed and order for same although informed that there would be a 6 week wait before delivery due the effects of the pandemic. I hasten to add that I have had test rides on other electric bikes in the recent past so my opinion wasn't formed based solely on the Volt experience.
A week later, my Wife followed the same route which resulted in the order of a similar machine for her too.
The bikes were delivered to our home by the local dealer 6 weeks later as promised and to date the odometers on both machines have accrued 100 trouble free miles.
Over that distance we have each done one battery recharge at 70 miles although the batteries on both bikes were only approx. 60% discharged according to the LED indicator on the control panel. My wife and I find the riding position very comfortable and for me, at nearly 80 years of age, the Step Through frame has proved to be be the ideal choice where swinging a leg over the crossbar and saddle of my old tourer was becoming problematic.
Whilst it is still early days, we are well satisfied with our purchases and hopefully, we will remain so.

Surprised that you do not have any around Leeds or Bradford or Harrogate all of which are less than 15 miles from my house.

As a 77 year old I am now able to cycle the hilly routes which I used to frequently run on and have missed greatly the last few years. Now I’m able to enjoy them again with the assist I gain I’m thoroughly enjoying them again thanks to the bike. I think it is tremendous and have been singing its praises with my cycling friends. I’ll keep my Dawes super galaxy for the flatter runs and sell my Giant hybrid. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase.

See on TrustpilotWe have bought 2 Volt ecycles. They arrived within the advertised time. Although we bought direct from Volt, they were fully assembled and pdi'd by our local dealer at no charge.
The bikes are solid, well made of high quality materials and well equipped with accessories. We absolutely love them. Now we are in our 70s we were finding our previous bikes hard work. Now with a little pedal assistance we easily have gone off on 20+ mile trips for picnics, shopping or just for fun. Hills we were finding difficult now just need a lower gear, sometimes a higher power level, and we sail up.
They are heavier obviously and we were worried about lifting them onto our motorhome bike rack but we have found that after removal of saddles and batteries we can lift them up OK.
Did I mention that we love them?

The range of power options are very good thus allowing me to work as hard as i wish or giving me help when I need it. The boost button option is great especially for example when trying to cross at a busy junction.
The gearing is smooth, the battery barely noticeable and the trip computer is very easy to read and to change the mode.
I also like the fact that the bike comes with front and rear lights as standard.
With a little adaptation the bike has suited me well. It was a little too tall initially so I had the saddle spring taken out. It is sturdy and comfortable. The screen is not visible at the moment, because of the lowering. Because of personal circumstances I haven’t used it as much as I would have liked. The power is great as well as the possibllity of using it without power. It is possible to add my basket on the front.
So yes I’m pleased with it.
Really pleased with my bike. Easy to use, both riding and operating the electric motor. The step through design makes getting on and off much easier for my old joints.
Smooth hear change and using full power on the motor makes the steepest hills easily.
Have now managed a few miles on my excellent Burlington, The sit up and beg position is really good for my bad knees and back. The bike quality is perfect. I had a technical query and it was sorted promptly and efficiently. Also excellent service from the dealer "On Yer Bike" in Bournemouth. Altogether a really good buy.

I brought a Volt Burlington and I love riding my bike , I'm 55 years old , not fit and overweight , since I got my bike in June I have been out most days , I choose to cycle routes with the biggest hills for the pleasure of cycling ! Best thing I ever did was get this terrific bike , its nifty and powerful , the sitting upright style suits me perfectly as I had a frozen shoulder and this style works with any shoulder problem . The lock is great the way it locks into bike , feels very secure

My legs now need the assistance of electric power which keeps me cycling and does not inflict excessive strain on the legs.
It is a proper comfortable bike. One criticism would be that it did not come with a bell. I bought one for £3.00 but it is necessary to warn dog owners, pushchairs etc who dominate the full width of off road cycle paths and who do not know you are approaching ! I often received thanks for my forewarnings of approach.
I love my volt bike. It is 60 years since I last had a bike. I have had it for 3 + months and I have ridden over 350 miles. We live in West Yorkshire and it is very hilly, we live on the top of a hill, hence the reason I haven’t had a bicycle, but with my discovery of the e bike came my own revolution.
I am 71 years old and I admit it took me a while to get confident on the roads. We have a lot of narrow lanes around the hill tops above Hebden Bridge. But now I go out, weather permitting, as often as I can, I don’t go out in the rain but if it rains when I am out it’s not a problem. I would recommend this Volt bike to any retiree who loves to get out and about as I do. I go on my own mostly and I love it, sometimes I go with my daughter or a friend. I LOVE MY BIKE. The battery is easy to charge and the bike is easy to maintain.
Had my bike a Burlington for a while now had it's first service had a slight hiccup which was dealt with without delay really enjoying it has got be back into cycling & even more important my dog has been reborn.

They went through the workings of the bike and at all times did social distancing. My son and I felt totally valued as costumers but also to minimise the risk of Covid-19 to us all. I know that if I had any problems they would sort them out for me as soon as possible.

See on Trustpilot I am unable to drive for a while for medical reasons. My work is 14 miles away situated semi-rural so bus commute is at least 2 hours each way. So I decided to look into having an ebike to make the commute. I'm 50, reasonably fit lady but not used to cycling nearly 30 miles a day... My local bike shop recommended the Burlington and so far I have done nearly 550 miles in the first 6 weeks of owning it. The commute involves 6 miles of cycle path - rather unmaintained by the council and 8 miles of country roads also in not great shape. Much of my commute is early in the dark and in wet and windy weather (I don't ride if icy), The Burlington has coped well with the rough roads and been through 18inch puddles and got soaked. You do need to take the battery off each time, dry the contacts area and recharge, it uses up about half to 2/3 the battery on 14 mile, full lights and high power. Each ride is at least an hour. It has helped hugely with the winds, hills etc. I'm actually enjoying my commute, even though it has its challenges!
A couple of slight issues would be that it's annoying that the battery brakes the pedals when I want to go faster than 16mph on the open roads, so that makes it very uneven and jerky when it does that repeatedly. Also The back light has broken after only 400 miles or so, and thankfully I bought spare lights at time of purchase. The dealer confirms they will repair it under warranty but there doesn't seem to be much sense of urgency about that. One other thing in the user manual the insurance claimed they would insure with the additional chain lock, which I purchased. But then once I purchased insurance with Pedalsure they said I wan't covered and needed to buy a different brand of lock, so that was annoying.

After much research, I decided on a Volt Burlington. I made the right choice. I had a folding ebike before(a different brand) and my Volt is the real deal. Its a great ride and I cannot fault any area of the bike. Build quality is excellent. 2 year warranty for sure gives peace of mind. Previously I only used my bike when needed, but already I am going out just for a ride. Highly recommended on all counts.

See on TrustpilotMy wife and I recently purchased a couple of Volt Ebikes, she chose the Burlington and i the Pulse X and have to say that we were both very impressed. The build quality is excellent and they are both fantastic bikes to ride with good battery life and loads of power when you need it. Unfortunately after only 27 miles my Pulse X developed a fault and the electric assist stopped working which was concerning as I was quite a few miles from home. I dropped the bike back into my local dealer who said he had never heard of this issue before but set about a repair. Within a few days he had identified the fault was due to a defective sensor on the pedal crank which was preventing the motor from working and this was quickly replaced. The dealer was excellent and kept me informed of what was going on and even dropped the bike off with my wife yesterday but I haven't had a chance to test it yet as I was away with work. Despite this slightly disappointing start, I would still recommend Volt bikes as they are really solidly made and amazing fun to ride and I truly believe this was an exceptionally rare incident.

See on TrustpilotOnly had my Volt bike for a couple of weeks and already it has had to go back to the dealer, the cable coupling disconnected at main controller below battery, hadn't been tightened properly when it was built by Volt, now waiting on dealer coming to see bike again as lever that initially gets bike going is sticking so that when I stop pedalling bike keeps going on assist! Saying this my dealer has been excellent , always available for help when required.

Think of it this way: needs it, wants it, gots to have it. It eats up the miles, it’s a beast when it comes to hills. In short, it does everything you ask of it, except tell jokes. Buy a VB. The assisted pedalling is great for hills and flexible so you can have as much or little assistance as you need. This bike has enabled me to get out and about again as I am unable to ride a conventional bike anymore. Good quality build, good battery range, easy to ride and the new card access to the power is a brilliant idea. But the dealer, U K Electric Bikes LTD from Sissinghurst in Kent, fortunately was a let down. Keen and enthusiastic at first but didn't provide various items susceptible as bill of sale etc and this took numerous calls both to them and volt bikes to sort out. Also the bike was provided with only one wheel lock key, volt bikes arranged for another key and says his would take about two weeks, well after six weeks and a 8 calls to Toby of Volt bikes still no key was forth coming, too be fair Volt bikes had asked another dealer to deal with this, who in turn used a third party. With still key Toby of volt bikes arranged for a new lock with keys to be sent which has duly arrived but I still need to fit it. Good product but buying experience tainted by poor service and lack of understanding about first class customer service. Thank you Toby for the help you gave. In the spirit of making clear what I would suggest is first class service looks like see below. European Electric Bikes - please get your business organised, don't promise things you cannot provide, if you say you are going to do something DO it. Volt bikes - great that without quibble you offered to provide a second key but customer service is not getting me to call on various occasions when arrival deadlines are missed. Calling me to check on arrival on deadline day would have been great and after my fairly direct verbose feedback you took this on board. If you offer a service that requires the use of third parties, ensure you put in place service standards and checks to ensure what you offer is being provided. Finally when you offer to do something ( Provide key) when challenged as to none arrival comments like "sorry it's out of our hands" "they are very busy" and "there's not much more I can do" shows a lack of understanding of what service is about. Note. I had originally given this a three star rating but feel this was a little harsh as the main friction was with suppling dealing rather than Volt bikes. If I where able to score the dealer and Volt bikes separately I would score UK Electric bikes as a 2 and Volt bikes as a 4.5.

I ordered a Burlington by phone to be delivered to their nearest bike shop dealership and the whole process was very straightforward. They answer the phone within a ring or two and you don't have to wade through an automated service. The bike was ready for collection within a week and although I haven't had much chance to use it yet and put it through its paces so far I'm very pleased with it.

You do need to consider how you will transport it due to it's weight. We devised an internal bike rack that fits inside my SUV, required removing quick release front wheel. we would not have purchased this type of bike if we could not have transported it easily. It is too heavy for conventional roof racks.

Did not get a discount but did receive some good accessories FOC. Bikes delivered directly to home fully assembled. Only used the bikes twice due to weather but very happy with the bikes so far. Build quality looks and feels very good and electric bike control and gears are easy to use. Can't wait for the better weather!

Very pleased with quality of my new bike it goes like a dream.
Only changes I would recommend is the gear lever in the right is extremely stiff and you need to push really hard to change gears. The power switch on the left is a bit difficult to reach, unless you have long thumbs and big hands. It's the throttle you need to reach over to get to the power switch which restricts movement. It's early days so I hope these things don't bother me too. I have as time goes on.

We chose the Burlington because my wife and I share the use of the bike. We need a work horse becasue my wife is a personal trainer and carries her stuff in panyers from park to park in London, all weathers and especially early mornings and at night. Electric bikes are a great solution for this The Burlington model is comfortable to ride with a step in frame making it more suitable for our needs. Compared with earlier models, it feels more nippy, even though still regualted to 15 mph and has a good steady feel.

(all makes) we now have two Volt's (Pulse and Burlington). without question these are the best engineered bikes to date the quality of build and finish is first class.The performance on the road is superb, having just returned from a trip to the Isle of Arran and to be raising eyebrows at our age when passing with considerable ease youngsters on their mountain bikes on a hill climb that rises to a summit of 1200ft. was somewhat satisfying. Being recognized in our (your) High Viz jackets back at the ferry port and being qustioned by all age groups even by motorists I found myself selling the bikes on behalf Volt to all ages and also signposting them to Bikepost Troon where we got ours. Having myself ben involved it selling for 38yrs I am very impressed with the lads at Bikepost both with their attitude towards customers needs and after sales service. I am however of the opinion that the standard of the bikes being built by Volt will in fact sell themselves. We can't wait to show them off on our next trip the Netherlands, 2018.

The blue Kensington ladies bike was in short supply but they took the trouble to source one for my wife while I purchased the Burlington. We have enjoyed riding the bikes and my wife loves the basket on the front of her bike. My only wish is that the gears were hub rather than exposed, a change that Volt may like to consider in the future. Overall we have had an excellent experience when dealing with Volt through the Cycle Store in Brighton and I would highly recommend them.

Volt advised where the nearest one to me was and after a short journey to Chris's Cycles I was impressed by the bike it's suitability for my needs and also the helpfulness of both Volt and Chris in understanding my needs and helping to set up the bike to suit me.I do not ride very far on any of my rides but every ride brings me great joy and satisfaction. The only criticism is that the bell did not last long as it never really worked properly from when I bought the bike. I had to take my partner's bell off his volt to replace mine as I use mine on a bike path and need the use of it more, for people who walk on cycle paths.
See on TrustpilotI love cycling, but as I now live in a place surrounded by hills, I had abandoned my mountain bike and thought I'd never cycle again, until I discovered the wonderful world of electric bikes. I did painstaking research before I decided to go with Volt bikes and have never regretted my decision. I was unsure what model to get as I have had recurring back problems and phoned the guys at Volt who were endlessly patient and discussed all the pros and cons of their models. I chose the Volt Burlington and what a bike! Classy, beautifully made, very comfortable saddle and riding position ( my back loves it ) , solid without being clunky and comes fully equipped. The range is terrific and the power settings give a good range of powered assistance. Hills are a breeze and this has given me freedom and exercise. This is not a cheats bike and some effort has to be expended but not to the point of complete exhaustion. My only comment is that the computer display would do better to be in miles rather than kilometers, which I realised after wondering how come I was able to cycle at 40mph! Duh...25mph in real money but that feels fast enough. The computer handbook could do with a bit of revision too, as the explanations of resetting etc are not very clear. The battery range is more than enough . Great bike, a fair price and perfectly engineered. One very satisfied customer! After sales service good. I am about to take it in for it's first service. Wonderful to be back on two wheels again!
