Funded by Transport Scotland (an agency of the Scottish Government) and delivered by the Energy Saving Trust, a range of support is available to encourage ebike uptake in Scotland.
In 2018, Energy Saving Trust awarded Volt the contract to supply ebikes for ebike trials delivered through Home Energy Scotland. We are proud that our relationship with Energy Saving Trust helps to promote greener and healthier transport choices. The interest-free loan makes buying an ebike for personal or business use very affordable at less than £1 a day.
Available to all Scottish residents, the personal ebike loan provides up to £6000 per household (capped at £3000 per ebike, and a maximum of 2x ebikes) interest-free and repayable over 4 years. This is an excellent way for you to buy your ebike(s) if you are based in Scotland. Further information here.
Businesses in Scotland can benefit from this amazing interest free loan, with up to £30,000 available for each individual company. This can be repaid over 4 years, making the opportunity to own your own Volt ebike fleet affordable and accessible. Further information here.
Transport Scotland have made available £1.14m for Round 3 of the eBike Grant Fund in 2019/20 to support the adoption of ebikes and ecargo bikes as an alternative to car journeys. Applications are now invited from public and third sector organisations based in Scotland to apply for grant funding to support the delivery of ebike and ecargo bike pools, public hire and loan schemes.
Applications are encouraged from local authorities, public sector agencies, further and higher education institutions, active travel hubs and community groups. The grant covers the purchase of ebikes, ecargo bikes, adapted bikes and associated safety equipment.
