Metro LS ebike: absolutely wonderful
I bought a Metro LS ebike about 6 months ago, and I absolutely love it. The bike looks fabulous, feels extremely well built, and rides like a dream.
All the features are of a a high quality - the seat, lights, handles, even the bell. I haven't felt the need to upgrade anything. The bike is very comfortable and easy to ride.
And in terms of power, I've been really impressed. There are four speeds but I've rarely needed to go above level two - even with the stiff coastal breezes and steep hills where I live. There's a small lever that gives you a little extra push when you're setting off, which is also helpful.
This is my first ebike and I found it super easy to get the hang of the controls. It's a folding bike with smaller wheels, which makes it very manoeuvrable. Best of all, it's great fun to ride!
From the ability to test any of their products in their showroom in London, to the abilityt o follow up with local bike shops that service VOLT, it's been an easy experience through and through. I've had the bikes for about 3 weeks now and have well over 100km on them to date and have been really pleased across the board.
Ordered by Hub and Spoke cafe. Rob offered us a drink while he fetched us some folding bikes to view and try. Which we were interested in. Had great service by Rob and VOLT in purchasing 2 Metro LS bikes.
Volt Metro LS - collected 05/04/25 Delivery took quite a long time. Despatched 25/03, delivered to local bike shop 05/04 - courier kept trying to deliver when the shop was shut! The bike is very nice to ride, but the battery on/off switch has worked only intermittently from day 1.
Update 14/04 - I took the battery to Adam at local agents 4PlayCycles in Cockermouth this morning. His magic fingers seemed to make the battery turn on and off every time! The required method is one short press for on, sustained firm pressure for about 4 seconds for off. It seems I wasn't pressing firmly enough!
I am very pleased with my Volt Metro LS. The bike arrived two days before Christmas and I have now enjoyed riding for 38 miles, despite the weather. I wanted a bike that could be serviced by a local dealer, and Andy and Rob at Exmouth cycles are friendly and helpful. I also liked that Volt bikes are made in Britain. The Metro LS was my choice as it could be folded to take in the car and compact enough when not folded to keep in a small summerhouse. The rack on the LS version was more suitable to attach the pannier bag I use regularly for swimming, and the bike seat went lower so my wife could also ride it. I am appreciating the seat post and front fork suspension, built in lights, disc brakes, integrated security lock, and bigger battery; an improvement over my previous electric bike.
Very impressed with Volt’s customer service .The person delivering the bike took time to go through the set up and important points about the particular model. I had a few queries after a week or so, which were dealt with efficiently and knowledgeably in a phonecall to customer services.
My wife has the original Volt LS which sits in the shed gathering dust. I was still exhausted from a 56 mile ride the day before so I borrowed it to ride back from the garage after dropping my car off for more repairs. What a fantastic bike. With the exception of the cable disc brakes being a bit weak, not really got a bad to say about it. It even fits in the passenger side of a Porsche Cayman with no issues!
Rating dropped from 5 stars due to the cable disc brakes...I see that the latest version has hydraulic which I would expect to be an improvement.
The Metro-S bicylce I bought seems well designed and, after I figured it out, does what it needs to. 1-2-1 customer support during the sales process was great as was the support from the bike technician who checked and assembled it on arrival. So really great service! It's one downside, for me, was that the associated documentation is generic to the full Volt's range and a bit vague on the specifics of folding bikes (which is the new bit to me). Finally figured it out via youtube links but a clearer manual on those aspects would have been helpful.
I bought a Metro LS with larger battery. It's simply the best present I ever treated myself to. Fantastic local support from Arnold Bike Shop. I love all the integrated security features and the comfort of front and rear saddle suspension. Highly recommended
Had a test ride of the Metro ebike at a local bike shop which was really useful. Easy ordering. Good communication. Quick delivery. Great bike to ride. The power is amazing. Have done 20+ miles and all 4 battery lights still on. Would definitely recommend.
Great customer service by Lee at Abingdon Behind Bars cycles, very knowledgeable about Volts bikes, they very easy to use, the Metro LS is great little bike as I'm 4 11", its not too heavy to lift, if you remove the battery, obviously the bike is lighter to pick up & easier to manage. Great & easy to ride, really good compact bike, cleverly designed, I thought the security systems was absolutely brilliant. We had a slight hiccup with the battery pack, Volt customer service was great & arranged to collect a new one from our local bike shop OnYerbike in Bournemouth, it was a great team effort
After 2 weeks riding the Metro LS, I can say that I'm very happy with it. I bought the bike due to the restrictions of taking a big bike on the train. My previous one was also an electric bike and I was pretty happy with it, so I was looking for something similar but smaller and foldable. I wish I had bought it before, feels great and I love everything of it. The suspension is such a plus, it feels so smooth in bumpy roads. I'm doing 50 miles/week and the battery lasts around 5-6 days in normal mode. Highly recommended.
The delivery was great, and the bike is really good as expected. Due to where I live the bike was delivered directly to me rather than through a local bike shop. The rear tyre has a slow puncture that I'll have to repair, though. Hence only 3 stars.
It was delivered in a appropriate time frame and it has given me a better experience of cycling on the road, though since it is an electric bike which would tend to be used on the road, why mirrors are not accessories you can get added is confusing. Cars and motor bikes and even mobility scooters seem to have them.
I am very pleased with my VOLT Metro LS. Being a low-step ebike it suits my height (5'0") and is relatively easy to ride. It is very well built and easy to operate once one gets used to the controls. It is also a folding model. VOLT bikes are designed and built in the UK, which is a plus point for me. Battery removal and charging is easy and one does not have to remove the battery to charge if the bike is near a power source. It is, however, considerably heavier than a conventional bike, which is a limitation in terms of my ability to lift & manoeuvre it (e.g. should steps be involved or lifting it in and out of the car).
So happy with our 2 Volt Metro LS bikes, excellent service from Volt, swift, hassle free ordering and very helpful team, also massive praise to A1 in Braintree for preparing them in record time and the help they have provided in making our Volt experience A1 all round. Fantastic fun, thank you teams
Bought my wife a Volt Metro direct from Volt, quickly realised within hours that we needed the Metro LS (smaller version) and they gave me a full refund. Went to our local dealer and bought one in black…I can honestly say hand on heart that this bike is absolutely fantastic! The best part about the whole bike for my wife is the thumb throttle to get you going without fumbling around on the pedals. If you’re having 2nd thoughts about it not being powerful enough then don’t, this thing is unreal up a steep hill. Very, very happy customer.
I've had the bike for about a month now. I can't find anything negative to say about the company or the bike. I feel I've picked the best bike on the market for my needs and pocket. And my bike is much admired. I have the Volt Metro LS in cream. Very retro and cool!!
They're the tops! Just purchased my 2nd Volt bike, and the customer service still brilliant: bike sent post-haste to my nearest supplier JuicedUpBikes, who arranged a trial ride for me, and then offered to deliver bike for free to my home 45 minutes away! Above and beyond... Plus, the bike - a metro LS is beautiful, nifty, and comfy. And I know if there's any problem - which I don't expect - it will be dealt with promptly and courteously. I'm so glad to have found this company.
Fantastic service. The team kept me updated all the time at every step. They arranged for a professional speedy delivery with a local cycle firm who were excellent. Unfortunately we have been busy lately and have not had a chance to test out the bikes yet but they certainly look fantastic. We were told by the cycle shop, the quality of the bikes are of very high standard. Really looking forward to taking them out. Thanks team VOLT, it has been an absolute pleasure dealing with you!
Nifty, comfortable to ride, easy to manage, love it!
Having had some trouble with my leg,I decided to buy an Ebike and a friend recommended the Volt. I have not been disappointed! I have a collapsible version, which fits neatly inside my front door, and reassembles instantaneously. I am looking forward to taking it on holiday soon in the boot of my small car. It is very nifty but easy to control and, if you're a beginner as I was, takes minutes to learn how to use the different power levels. I like the fact that you can easily switch between no power at all on the flat, but use the power to help in strong wind or up hills. The saddle and handle bars are really comfortable. Only one slight niggle is that the display screen is difficult to see in bright sun. The shop assistant gave me excellent customer service and I love my ebike!
Bought for wife’s 70th birthday. A reluctant rider before and now on it at every opportunity. Given her a new life being able to join the family activity as walking was becoming less of a pleasure. Folds neatly and easily into car boot and goes like a train up hill and along the lanes. Pannier rack is very useful. All in all….. ticks every box. Gran rides again.
My criteria for choosing my new bike were 1. Fold up - fits in our car/ caravan 2. Electric- so I can keep up with a younger, fitter husband 3. An English company 4. A local dealer who knows his stuff and offers good after sales care
By using The Bike Shed, Westbrook, I was able to hire and try without cost all the electric bikes over a day, after which an informed discussion took place and I came away having learnt a huge amount about electric bike management and most importantly having ordered a very pretty cream Volt LS Metro! The shop owner had a close working relationship with VOLT and he was kept fully informed of progress which he relayed to me. I signed up for the VOLT online magazine which served to increase my interest and dare I say...excitement! I received the bike within a couple of days of the date I had been originally given. I spent time with the shop assistant who explained everything carefully and off I went with my Metro. Its the first new bike I have owned for many years. What I like best: The ease with which I can now start off and cycle uphill even on a windy November day along the coast path- wind force 7-8 The gear mechanism which is so smooth The hydraulic front forks for the Thanet road surfaces ( which are not great) But mostly that I feel young again!! Thanks VOLT and Thank you Bike Shed.
High quality parts used on the Electric Volt Metro LS Bike
Bought my Electric Volt Bike because of the high quality of parts used on the Metro LS. Being a small 5' 2" lady in her 60s, the ability to adjust the size of the seat and handle bars was important to me as well as the opportunity to fold up the bike and pop it in the boot of my car. The seat has been very comfortable and the 4 power levels fantastic. I still like to switch off the power on occasions in order to get my exercise, but quickly notice the weight of the bike and then am able to bring in power to assist. Overall I am really pleased with my purchase, thank you Volt.
Hazelmere Motor Cycles were very helpful when we were considering buying our Volt electric bike. They had bikes in stock for us to try and reserved them for us until we could collect them. Looking forward to using them when weather permits.
just purchased Volt LS with extended Battery . It's awesome love the throttle function. it's nice to see the twin integrated security locks and fob function
Purchased two bikes. Have started riding them and what a great experience. Controls are easy and the power is fantastic. Would recommend these no problem.
All good now! Really enjoying the bike. 2 issues on arrival that are ow fixed - one of the mudguard spoke was rubbing against the rear tyre and one pedal was stuck but once that was fixed it's up and running now.
Love it ! Great to ride and easy to operate .Got the folding version which is a little heavy to lift into and out of a Discovery .However no issues once on the road .
Great bike but stars lost for paints chips after 3 months
I purchased a volt LS cream metro earlier this year. Had a bit of a wait but very pleased with bike when arrived. Only reason for a few stars off is now, 3 months since receipt, a few niggles with it. 1. Several chips have appeared in the paint. Down to silver frame. I’m doing normal, perhaps even light usage (is using the bike maybe 2-3 times per month). These chips include where the metal panier meets the frame / pressure point. Contacted volt to ask about purchasing touch up paint and was advised id need to Take bike to a model shop and find my own match. 2. Front mud guard has been squint since receipt. Sometimes hits the tyre requiring me to bend the spokes holding it in place. These are minor irritations (although in the long terms I’m worried that even after 3 months I have paint chips). Otherwise the bike is a joy to ride. Good battery life. Easy to control. Folds up and fits in boot of my small car. It is heavy (like all ebikes) but removing battery helps with that.
I ordered the Volt Metro LS on the 4th May & received it on the 4th August, just too long in my opinion. Emails weren't always replied to & had to ask a few times to get a response. On picking up the bike from a local bike shop, they wouldn't release the bike as Volt hadn't paid the fee to them to check over it. I was blamed for this, as hadn't paid the £20 toward this & how could i without an email requesting this. I wasn't made aware f where my bike was going until again after several emails. I paid their fee along with mine & they refunded me a few days later. Not a great start, but the bike looks good & when it stops raining, i will try it out & post an update.
After along wait we finally got hold of our metro & metro LS and what a revelation, we live on the edge of the Peak District national park these bikes have made it easier to get around. Our thanks must also go to Jack Gee cycles in Northwich for keeping us informed during our wait Terry is a mine of info and very helpful
Great Bikes !!!!!! Great service from the HQ in a "sticky situation" and went out of their way to deliver a happy customer - thank you and I will enjoy loys of great views and scenery on this bicycle - both downhill and uphills !!!!!
Quality build of both bikes (Metro LS & Metro), which are stylish and most importantly ride well. Early days using them but so far they exceed our expectations and make our introduction to electric biking a pure pleasure. Only slight downside, they are rather heavy and apparently the Metro doesn't come with a spring mechanism holder on the Metro bike - bizarre. Myst mention, great service from the Norwich Volt agent (Mandarin Cycles).
I’ve got the Volt Metro LS. It’s very attractive and extremely efficient. I like to use it mainly as a boost when my legs are tired or there are particularly steep hills! I’ve found it excellent for nipping about when we’re in the caravan. We did 45 km on a hilly route one day and still had plenty of battery charge left. It charges up quickly. The bike is very heavy compared to a standard road bike but you’d never know it when you’re riding it. If you have to push it anywhere you can use the boost button to help. Perfect!
Purchased 2 volt bikes recently one for me and one for my partner who hasn't been on a bike in 25 years and found them wonderful a lovely smooth quiet comfortable effortlessly ride so its 10/10 from me .
I have recently purchased my second Volt bike. I have a Burlington from 2017 and now a Metro. They are both brilliant. I like (very much) that they're made in the UK. Purchasing was easy - although we waited a long time for the Metro (all the virus stuff), but their responsiveness to queries and keeping us updated was brilliant. Service at our local bike shop / Volt representatives is alway perfect. I often get asked about the bikes and always highly recommend them. I love ebikes and won't have any other kind of bike now! I can go places I would NEVER be able to go with a push bike. They are wonderful.
I purchased the Volt Metro LS Excellent bike, went for a ride and completed 15 miles ,this was my first ride out for a long time, bike handled very well, when I got home still had 40% of the battery left, took 2.5hrs to bring the battery back up to full power, as I am over 100kg I thought the battery performed well, the start assist and boost power paddle works well, started off in top gear and never had to change down, a good all round bike, suspension worked well ,went over some cobble stone roads and not too bad, added bonus was lights, mudguards and a carry rack , easy bike to fold, just need a strap to hold it together
Great bike use to get to work and ride outs with friends.... Love that I can fold if needed. After a long shift at work I love cycling home especially the hills, no effort and bost great too...
Overall I am really happy with my new electric bike. The folding mechanism is simple and easy to use. It takes getting used to the small diameter wheels after being used to an ordinary bike. I found the wheelbase to be a little short, but one can tilt the saddle to help compensate. The only difficulty I have is being able to lift it in and out of the boot of my car. It is not the weight so much as the difficulty of balancing the bike and trying to keep it together. I guess an elastic tie might work to keep the handle bars from swinging out.
I am certainly very happy with the three levels of assistance which makes hills a doddle.
Well built and high spec bike(s) - bought a Metro and Metro LS to take with us in the Campervan. Not had much more than a test ride or two yet, but looking forward to many miles of electric biking!
We are a couple in our mid 70s and currently ride a tandam which is difficult to transport to other areas. We now have a Metro LS just to use around town it is so good, easy to ride, comfortable, has good range, is well built, and best of all folds easily to go in the car. We have now ordered a Metro then we can use them instead of the tandam. The way the electronics work make riding a pleasure hills disappear, or not according to the setting.A good bike 10/10 we look forward to getting the second bike.
Bought the Metro LS and it does everything we expected. Has more than doubled the typical distance that I cover as a 74 year old, previously using a gearless folding bike. I find it heavy to fold, but it does so easily and it fits nicely in the back of the car. I often use it with power off on the flat, to get the exercise, but the power boost button is great and it soars up the steepest of hills that I could not manage before. Gear changing is easy, disc brakes effective though a bit noisy at times, lights (hardly used) could be larger and might be good to have a flashing option for rear light. Pathetic bell and I have fitted a larger, noisier one (why do so many other cyclists overtake me without ringing a bell??). Small wheels do demand attention to one's balance when making sharper turns.
We received our two Metro LS bikes in February this year and after an initial problem with the gears on one of them, necessitating our return to "On Your Bike, East Grinstead" for a cable to be adjusted, we are very pleased with the build quality of them. Unfortunately because of weather problems not had a lot of chances to ride out. But really enjoyed the experience when we could. Looking forward to taking them on holiday this year.
This bike is brilliant! Cycling hills and any length was previously difficult! The Volt is very easy to use with the help of electric power makes cycling a joy. The build is solid which makes you feel safe and secure. Finally we purchased the folding bike which provides the opportunity to take our bikes on our travels. Cannot be more pleased with our purchase. Thank you.
Unfortunately, during lockdown, our Metro LS had to be delivered to our home address. Upon opening it could be seen that a side of the box had received quite a blow and the bikes rear mudguard had been cracked as well as one of its support bars bent. After some bar straightening and application of duct tape the bike was usable again. On the other hand, my Metro, delivered a month earlier, was fine. We had to wait quite a few months, due to demand, to receive the bikes and think they were well worth the wait.
My wife took delivery of her Volt Metro LS on the 3rd Feb'21 and from the off the bike was a dream to ride controls easy to use, folds away easy. After a few rides and taking the battery out each time and replacing it whenever she went for as ride the battery became faulty due to the pins at the bottom of the battery were bent causing the bike to loose power. I contacted volt customer services who within a very short time sent a replacement battery to me via a cycle shop in st Albans. Overall my wife is very pleased with the bike and prefers it to her old push bike. Customer services within Volts are first class and i would not hesitate to recommend Volt ebikes to anybody who is seeking to buy an ebike.
An excellent bike-once you have got used to it. Quite heavy - my husband can just about lift it into the car, even without the battery attached. There is about a 1-2 sec delay on the motor engaging so it can sometimes be difficult to peddle off up a steep hill from a standing start. The finish and equipment were excellent. The small reflectors on the pedals fell off soon after using- they don't appear to be glued in place but we can do that. The handlebar height is a bit high for me, even on the lowest setting. There may be an easy way to lower it but I have not found it yet Otherwise great bike
Really pleased with the quality and after service of the bike, the bike is so comfortable and having the electric assist is great no more struggling up hills or against the wind.
I bought two bikes the Volt Metro and the Axis. My wife loves her Metro and I’m delighted with my Axis too. We both enjoy riding them. They are both a little heavier than we expected for lifting in and out of the car. The saddle on the Axis is not very comfortable and I bought a new one. Also the stand on the Axis hangs very low and catches the ground sometimes. This is something else I’m having replaced but for the price I wouldn’t have expected this, particularly as someone from VOLT told me they’d had a few complaints about this. On the whole though I’m very pleased with my purchase.
We purchased the metro for my wife to use during our holidays in our motorhome, I looked at various cycle manufacturers but decided on the Metro which is equipped with a high specification of components, the quality is 1st class. Do not hesitate if you need a fold up e cycle, this is a superb cycle and comfortable to ride.
Had my volt bike for a couple of months now and I'm loving it To be honest when my husband brought me my bike I thought it was a bit pricey but you really do get what you pay for it is magnificent and I wouldn't part with it for the world , it powers along like a dream Thank you volt a1 from me
Great service, great bike! Only down side is how heavy the bike is, it’s quite difficult to ride when the battery is switched off and heavy to carry around.
I have the LS, due to one arthritic knee and one replacement, I found it difficult to mount my Brompton, and felt it was time for assisted cycling. I cold have converted my pushbike, but didn't fancy a front wheel drive. Have had the Volt for about 3 months now and cycle most days, weather permitting, in fact, I know use it more than my car for local journeys.
We have had our bikes for 2 weeks now and they are the Metro and Metro LS there is only one word to describe them and that is FANTASTIC when we go out we can either use the power of the battery or set the control to low and pedal. The Normal setting is just brilliant to nip along without using too much energy. The low setting you need a bit more effort to get along but we are both in our 70's and find the low setting adequate. When we can, we are out on them, enjoying the fresh air. They fold up nicely and fit in the bags which we have for them to go in. At first getting the bikes into the bag was a bit difficult now it is a piece of cake. Lots of people have asked us about the bikes when we have been out and about and they too are impressed. If you are thinking about getting a folding bike then get a Volt one, the security system on them is brilliant. Both my wife and myself love our VOLT BIKES
I bought the Volt Metro LS bike and received it today. It is better than I expected! Very good value for money. I love the design, that it folds, and how the battery and wheels lock. The bike rack is already included.
I am height 163cm and this bike is perfect for me. Very satisfied and happy with this brand, thank you!
My wife and I brought one each of the fold metro bikes they are fantastic easy to ride very well made pleasure to ride her two sisters were so impressed they also purchased them so what more can I say.
Volt Metro LS - has given me a 62 year old lady a new lease of life
During this covid 19 pandemic I am missing my Aquafit sessions at the gym. I've been using my husbands exercise bike for the first time. Once I'd worked up to doing 10miles every morning I thought I'd like to own a proper bicycle. My husband researched all folding bikes ( he is a keen cyclist doing 50-70miles at one time for his relaxation & well being. He whittled it down to a choice of 2 bikes for me to chose from. I chose the Volt Metro LS. WOW this electric bike is fantastic, oh how I so wished I'd bought this bike years ago. It's a great bike & now I'm cycling out in the fresh air & have a new sense of freedom during these unsettling times. Go on, get out & try this yourself. I'm 62 years of age with a new lease of life since I got my bike. Thank you to the Volt team my bike arrived very quickly to my local bike shop & I have had a free bike service to check everything is working well. I'm very happy with the efficient service I have received from Volt.
Love this company! I think I have spoken to the majority of the workforce and I can truly say... They're all fab! I love my product and my only wish... Is that I'd started cycling sooner! No, but seriously now, the only 'downer' I can see is the lack of cycle-ware i.e. clothing, assessories and covers on their website (as they do with repairs and insurance) then I needn't have gone elsewhere, but I guess they need to give the rest of the market a chance, lol! Like I said... I love them!
From the first minute of contact with Volt Bikes UK. I have been impressed by the professionalism and attention to customer care shown by all staff who interacted with me and my wife.
We sought their advice and as we are in our mid 70s they guided us through the process and we ended up buying two foldable metro ls models in cream.
Since we have received our bikes we have covered 60 miles on our daily bike rides round our local area. No problems with the bikes and we have rediscovered the joy of cycling also the admiring comments from people as we pass by on our runs.
All told our experience has been a very good one and we will continue to use our bikes as we remain in lockdown and forever after this time.
Bought the Metro LS ( low step ) to allow my wife to use the cycle as well . Having now travelled over 100miles ( now due its first check) I am very pleased with the comfort and quality of the whole bike and fittings . The suspension forks plus a quality seat with an adjustable sprung post give a very comfortable ride . The gears are easy to use and the four power settings give good choice of assistance. The bike folded is heavy and is not as handy as a Brompton if you travel on trains etc daily . I only use the folding mechanism for storage and that is fine . I would have given the bike five stars if it had better finished mudguards , the frame gets very dirty around the pedal crank area . My other folder has slightly angled plastic deflectors fitted as standard to the mudguards and this helps .Maybe nit picking but having a cream coloured frame shows the dirt so easily .
After not cycling for over 50 years a satisfied customer
After not cycling for over 50 years, James from Mule Cycles in Oswestry was very patient and helpful with my test ride and I decided that the Volt Metro LS was the ebike for me. The delivery of the bike happened on 17th April 20 and to date I have done over 100 miles and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The only slight down side was a long wait for the delivery of the storage bag, I have no hesitation in giving full marks and recommendation to the Volt Metro LS. A big thank you to Volt and your local stockist in Oswestry.
I love my Volt electric LS Metro bike. It's heavy when lifting but it's perfect apart from that. There's a little button (assists you when you need to take off or for that little extra oomph. Brilliant idea! Battery charging is super easy.
I bought a Metro and a Metro Ls from ON YOUR BIKE in East Grinstead on the start of the lockdown, fantastic service and very high quality bikes, we wish we had bought them a long time ago-brilliant.
The Volt Metro LS represents vfm. The ergonomics of the bike could be improved - greater distance between the seat and handle bars (like the Metro fold up). Battery life appears to be good, getting nearly 50 miles on one charge. Would be helpful if there was a magnet to hold the wheels together after folding. Extras that came with the bike - Hi Vis vest was far too big for me, tote bag useful and a oblong white bag, not sure what this was for. Overall though pleased with the bike so far.
I had been testing small eBikes for my partner who is a good cyclist but hates the hills and the wind in Brighton. I had tested quite a number and had almost settled on the Raleigh folding eBike. Passing the Volt dealer in Brighton we then found the Metro LS - for almost the same money. The difference was amazing. The Metro is absolutely stunning. So powerful - we can get up the vertiginous hills in Brighton in 3rd with no problem. Suspension is amazing - cracked road surfaces are no problem. Easy to ride and my partner is able to get it up the steps into our house easily.
I have been out on it more than she has - first day everywhere on full power managed to almost deplete the battery after 20 miles. I have been obsessively monitoring it and have started to use power for uphills only then on straight/downhill switching to low power and letting my legs or gravity assist. This has dramatically increased the distance travelled. Beware the Power setting though - it is addictive.
Really love this bike - especially given the price - huge amount of quality bike for the money with top notch components. Waiting to try the Pulse X for myself - although the Metro is so much fine we might just buy a second one of those.
Really pleased with the two Volt Bikes we have bought. They ride really well and are far better than our previous experience with folding bikes.
The only reason for not giving the Volt and the a bikes a 5 star rating is that we had an early battery failure on one of the bikes (it refused to take a charge). That said, the local dealer acted promptly to exchange the battery.
Great bike easy to use fast enough and good battery life bit more expensive than other bikes but well worth the extra for build quality and equipment supplied on the bike my wife has ms and loves the freedom the bike gives her I would recommend volt bikes .
I have had my Metro LS for 6 weeks now and I have found it to be excellent. It is my first ebike so there was a bit of a learning process to go through but after about 5 rides I was at ease with it all. The battery assistance is whatever you want it to be from very little to a lot. I am a reasonably fit 74yo but going up hills on a normal bike is not possible for me now. This bike makes virtually all hills surmountable for me. I ride 15-30km each outing and the battery has never gone below level 2 (out of 5).
I bought this folding model so that it would fit in the boot of my car and also I can take it on the bus,As I was involved in a serious car accident a couple of years ago I find it very difficult to get around,I looked at getting a mobility buggy but decided to get the bike and wish I had got it a long time ago . I can’t believe how much better things have become for me and would recommend it to anybody instead of a buggy ,quality bit of kit and very well designed. MO
What a bike brilliant goes ideal for shopping been 20 miles on the bike at one go had a compleat new knee operation. I didn't exercise it. Now I go out every day much inprovement no pain. Best thing I ever done. Sold the car. I'm much fitter thank you.
First class bike shop selling awesome e-bikes, and providing great service
The branches are small enough that the staff care about and look after the customers, answering questions knowledgeably, but a big enough company to have put together an awesome product. I had been considering a Raleigh Stow E-Way bike from Halfords, but the service was pretty slow and inflexible. For just £100 more (the list price is the same, Halfords were offering a discount at the time) I got the Volt Metro SE, which is a better bike - disc brakes instead of calipers, it has front fork and seat post suspension (the Raleigh is rigid), and it has an integral frame lock on the rear wheel, another neat feature which the Raleigh doesn't have. I cannot fault the service and customer care from these guys, if you want an e-bike, I highly recommend Volt.
We love our bikes. They are very well made, responsive and good looking. It was disappointing we had to ring Volt and query why we were waiting longer than the 2-4 weeks quoted as we needed them for a tight deadline however Volt did respond well and we got the bikes in time.
I enjoy my new Volt bike I am very happy with it because when I go shopping to my nearest Tesco’s I have to go over a busy road which has a bridge crossing my old bike it tended to cut out at the bottom of the bridge then I had to switch it off then on again and it would start again. So I thought I would buy a New Volt bike and I can now go up and straight over the bridge to do my shopping in one go.
Build quality is excellent. Bike rides and performs very well and looks awesome A couple of minor problems, with stiff steering but this was rectified by A1 cycles where bike was purchased. Volt themselves have been very helpful from the start and I would not hesitate in recommending them.
I purchased my bike through annandale cycles in Moffat the service I received was excellent. I love my bike, I wasn't sure at first but after a week I was going everywhere on it finding excuses to go the long way,and just over a month later I've somehow managed to put a 125 miles on it. As this is my first ebike and first bike in over 15 years I can't compare it to other experiences it's a very sturdy machine and has so far taken me where I've wanted to go with no issues except to get a bit muddy. It has only two downsides as far as I'm concerned, its heavy which makes getting it in and out of the house a bit awkward, this is only a minor niggle as I have no stairs but could be a problem with people living in flats, and the second is that the front light is not very bright, I do a lot of riding at night, on dark roads it's not much use, I've bought a second much brighter light so it's not a problem any longer. Overall I'm more than happy with it, one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Very pleased so far only having covered 40 miles...why does power show 5 on the handle bars when the battery only shows 4....a little confusing. Everything else is as it seems..4 power levels certainly help you climb those hills. Saddle no too comfortable. The pedals need to be a bit bigger to accommodate a size 9 wide feet, means of security good and obvious for all concerned. Difficult to fault at this stage but let’s wait and see when there are more miles on the clock. Not sure whether the handlebars could be more accommodating and more comfortable on the hands.
Made me enjoy riding again , able to cycle further each time I go out gives you the confidence that you will be able to get home even if tired, you have the power to help you home
nicely built bike, but no control over speed, as soon as you pedal, it takes you straight up to the max speed as set on the power buttons, which can be quite dangerous, and can cause you to run into people quite quickly. is this right? Malcolm Ball
The volt metro LS is fantastic. It is sturdy and easy to handle but on and off road. I can now cycle anywhere and everywhere, giving me another form of transport and independence. The riding position is perfect for my "mature" back and of course the assistance has helped my knees beyond words. The only downside is that I didn't buy it five years ago.
Really enjoying my Metro LS, finding it very easy to use. I only wish I had bought it sooner! My friends are equally impressed with the simplicity of use. Excellent service from Holburn Cycles in Aberdeen
Excellent product. Researched the model we wanted on the Volt website which was easy to navigate and very helpful. Arranged a test ride at a local dealer, (Bristow's Cycles in Peterborough) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The dealer was helpful and knowledgeable about the bikes and purchasing was a smooth and painless experience. Aftercare service is great too! Very happy with the build quality and use of high end components. Highly recommended.
bought two bikes, customer service from Edinburgh was great where i picked the bikes up 400 miles from my home and paid london volt direct . have not used them yet in storage as moving house but the bikes look amazing
This Volt bike is a dream come true!!! I have been cycling for a good twenty years' and the last couple of years was getting harder because of pain full arthritis That was part of the reason l decided to get the Volt I also got rid of car as Walthamstow was closing back roads and pushing traffic on a few big main roads All l can say luv luv my volt
Bike is easy to ride , power setting enable me to ride up hills and into wind without really struggling controls are intuitive and power comes in quickly and breaks are effective. Odd feature is gently climbing. Or into strong wind and get to 15 mph suddenly lose assistance , I know this due to law. Computer display is clear to read but can,t read what gear you are since this is angled forward and not towards rider. Pleased we bought the bike.
I love my Metro LS volt bike - it has totally changed my life for the better, giving me extra energy and widening the range and length of my trips. Now we need more cycleways!
I thought I would write an updated review of my metro ls. I bought the bike so I could carry it easily in my car and use it off road in the Scottish highlands. I realise it is classed as a commuter bike but what the heck , decided to try it on something a bit rougher than a paved road.
My first trip was round the forest tracks around Glen Tanner . Reasonably smooth going , no problems. Then decided to try a more ambitious route into the mountains above Braemar. A glen known as Glen Ey. This track is hill walker and mountain bike territory Very rough
Stone ,rocks , gravel and ruts for 5miles, with some steep climbs.
The little metro was surprisingly capable. Not once did I have to get off.Even passed a couple of mountain bikes on a steep up hill section.
Brilliant bike.
Word of warning though. This bike is tough and very capable but it is NOT a mountain bike. If you fancy tackling a bit off the rough stuff Take your time and go slow especially on the downhill sections and you will have a great time. My only real worry was getting a puncture. Enjoy the scenery.
Just bought a Metro LS - nice bike, but Volt refuse to supply the servicing manuals. So if you want the two year warranty, you HAVE to take it to the dealer on the 3-month intervals specified in the manual. Beware!
Re the Volt reply - yes there is a manual, but it doesn’t cover the servicing requirements. I’ve been explicitly told by Volt tech support that they will not supply this to an owner and that shop servicing is a requirement of the two year warranty. So even tho I am competent & willing, Volt won’t supply the necessary information.
Further update and revision to 4 stars: after prompting Volt have confirmed that provided the bike is serviced ‘properly’, irrespective of who does it, they will honour the two year warranty. And there is no Volt-specific service manual. Now, if they’d said that the first time I asked, it would have been 5 stars!
I have found it difficult to find pannier bags tofit the Volr rack Volt recommended a topeak bag which I bought but could not attach the pannier rack,I emailed for help but no reply.
Have now bought a st of carradice c front pannier bags which fit
My first e bike and the best for my wife and i both fold and go in the boot and we can cycle anywhere we like great product awesome quality will recommend to friends and family
Metro LS.
I have only had the bike for a few days, but so far I couldn’t be happier.
I ordered the bike through a Volt dealer in Newcastle, the bike was delivered when promised and the dealer took me through the bike’s features.
Cycle is good quality, I have every expectation that I’ll have great fun using it. Unfortunately, the weather is not great at the moment. Purchased through a local bike shop Aldridge Cycles both they and the volt team have been very helpful. Excellent service.
Bought my Metro LS for holiday cycling in France as it will be a novelty to keep up with my husband. Love the suspension, the padded seat, lights and the ease of travel. Will need to get used to setting off (can catch you unawares) but love the ease of travel. Have bought a bag to put it in as this makes lifting easier and I secure the bike with a bungee clip before putting it in the bag to prevent it from unfolding.
over the moon with my new electric bike, I am a 5 foot 1 inch lady and have been searching a while for a suitable bike and found the volt Metro LS was just perfect , very pleased with the quality , and its the perfect size very comfortable with the suspension at the front and suspension seat post at the back, it breezes up the hills disc brakes, built in lights, rear carrier and luggage straps, ,so pleased I chose volt
Good points: solid . Well finished & pleased with both bikes. Bad points:pedal stuck. Wires loose. Wire to light cut. Handle bars needed adjustment. Instruction book poor & inaccurate.
Late delivery waited a month longer than promised. There seems to be a problem with the computer. Volt were told about this three days ago and I am still waiting for an answer. I would like to thank Bays Bikes for their help in dealing with Volt over this issue.
A test ride blew away all the reservations and scepticism. Metro LS immensely rideable and user friendly. As much or as little power assistance as you need. Also very controllable when starting from stationary, in traffic especially - especially good for the older rider with less strong leg muscles. Well equipped, with the feeling of quality. Friendly and helpful staff at Volt Bikes Southwark made the buying process very easy and pleasant.
After spending a lot of time researching e bikes I decided on my Metro LS. The gentleman on the phone answered all my questions and was eager to help, they sent the bike to a local store for me to try without any obligation. I initially thought the bike was a little heavy but It’s solid and I love it!
Absolutely wonderful. My husband and I both have Volt bikes. We should otherwise have had to give up cycling as we are both in our late seventies. My only criticism is that there is no drink holder but I appreciate that because the bikes fold, this could be difficult to accommodate.
We've bought 2 identical bikes via a local retailer, the only exception being colour. Overall you have to be very impressed by the build, look and feel. A couple of points have arisen which do cause concern, and it is for these only that I have docked 1 star. Firstly, a nagging rattle from the electric motor on one bike only, which I'm hoping will be fixed upon it's 250km retailer checkup which is due soon. This rattle (similar to an electrical crackle) happens periodically when the motor is engaged and stops immediately as soon as you cease peddling. The 2nd bike remains very quiet indeed, whether you engage the motor or not. Secondly, we had an initial problem with the battery on the other bike. It couldn't be unlocked, hence it couldn't be disconnected and charged off bike. The lock barrel had apparently broken, resulting in a 10 day stay at the Workshop, waiting mostly for Volt to deliver a replacement battery, which took them a whole week. It raised slight concerns about spare parts and leaves a small nagging doubt over future availability. Perhaps we've simply been unlucky with our purchases and my concerns are unfounded. If allowed, I shall of course update this review periodically.
This is indeed an excellent E bike I love the way it flies up hills add a couple of problems but sorted them out dampers iting the front mudguard bolt so I add a smaller bolt put in Up to now I’ve add no serious problems it is a dream to Ride this is indeed the best electric bike on the market. Thank you Volt.
Friendly, helpful and efficient service from the VOLT team. Good communication throughout my online purchase (through the cycle scheme) and delivery to a local bike store I could walk to, to collect my ebike.
Absolutely thrilled with my bike. It is easy to step through and the controls are also easy to use. I like the handlebar grips which are just right and although the bike is heavy not as heavy as my previous bike. It goes up steep hills easily and the controls are gentle. My previous bike the power was rather fearce. The only criticism I can give is that when it folds there is nothing to keep it together so you have somehow to keep everything in place while lifting it into car. Will have to work on this. Any ideas please! Otherwise would have given it 5 stars.
The Metro LS is well made. The components are good. What let's Volt down is it's customer services. As the Metro LS is a folder I ordered a bag when purchased. Two weeks on still no bag? Regards the 2 phone calls, DPD delivered the bag today 14th. Better late than never? Updated stars!
Just had first ride of metro LS. Smiled all the way, good gearing and good power from the battery in all modes. I'm only 4ft 10 inches and bike fits perfect, without suspension seat post. The only downside is bike still bit awkward to fold but apart from that excellent.
Got a new Metro LS from the guys at Volt a few weeks ago after careful consideration. A very well thought out bike, quality and comfort throughout. Lyle was particularly helpful and he called me recently to see how I was getting along. Classy customer service to go with a great product.
I did my research on ebikes and I was impressed with Volt bikes. I found my nearest supplier in mid Wales and I had in mind what type of bike I wanted. Chris's Cycles were fantastic and had a good selection to chose from. I chose the Metro Ls as i wanted a folding step through bike as I want to take it away with me and use it for my rural commute to work, which is a 10 mile round trip. I also loved the cream colour and chestnut saddle with colour coded hand grips and tyres. I also took up the 0%12 months finance. It was really simple to set up and within minutes I was accepted, I paid the 10%. It was really easy and a great way to pay for the bike. The bike came in good time but with the wrong colour saddle and handgrips but the right tyres. Chris's Cycles sorted it out and the correct parts were sent. Except the handgrips were both for the same side. So, again Chris requested the correct side hand grip. Volt sent the right one and I could finally pick up my Ebike. I would recommend Chris's Cycles as the service he provided was fantastic, no fuss, no bother, just good honest knowledge. I definitely made the right decision, the bikes suspension gives the bike a comfortable ride and I nip along effortlessly up the rural roads. The lights are bright enough for me as there is no street lighting along my route. The seat is comfortable and the gears are great. The bike feels great, looks great and is a head turner as I glide through villages and ride up hills making cycling look easy. I had no offer of apology from Volt for my wait, but Chris's Cycles were apologetic even though it wasn't his fault. Even so I am very happy with my purchase and the build quality is what I'm really impressed with. Update - Thank you Lyle at Volt Bikes for calling me. I really appreciated you taking the time to call me and thank you for your honesty, It's refreshing. Have no fear I am recommending your bikes to everyone. It's a great bike, that is fun to ride. It takes the chore out of getting to work! Thanks again
I bought the Metro LS and its a great bike. Makes hills a total breeze. I use the bike to go to and from the train station and it is a pleasure to ride. The only drawback is it is very heavy and quite difficult to fold up.
Ordered bike on line, pleasant response to my telephone queries , (bike was out of stock when ordered), delivered to bike shop in Perth where it was assembled. Very happy with purchase, would recommend.
Easy to use, good service, no quibbles if things go wrong. They replaced my battery charger, no question asked, when it stopped working after less than 3 months.
We had an unusual need. We live in Sydney and wanted to buy an electric bike to use on a holiday in France. It had to fold up to go in a car boot and on a boat we hired, and be easy to get on and off for my wife who has a very sore hip. From start to finish, Lyle Metcalfe could not have been more helpful and clearly from our research the Volt Metro LS was the best bike on the market for our needs. Lyle found one for us (they were out of stock because of high demand), shipped it to us in France together with a superb pannier, lock and storage bag. He offered to help us over the phone, but it was very easy to assemble the bike out of the box. The bike transformed my wife's holiday! She has difficulty walking any distance, and a conventional bike is too painful for her hip. With the Volt bike she could travel long distances effortlessly and the pannier was large enough for all our shopping. She would zoom up long hills and I would arrive later and very puffed on a conventional bike. We have stored the bike in France awaiting our return next year, and I plan to buy one too. Thanks again to Lyle, and thanks to Volt for such a great bike.
If like me you spend ages reading reviews before spending your hard earned cash and you are on the market for an electric bike then I highly recommend VOLT electric bikes. I purchased the 2016 white model Volt Metro LS and I have never had so much fun riding a bike! Although not the cheapest (nor the most expensive) of electric bikes, I chose VOLT because of the excellent reviews of their bikes and (importantly) their superb customer service. They do their best to keep their customers happy and sent me an upgraded part I wanted in just 2 days! They sound very friendly and helpful on the phone. No question too silly. I do not know if it is just unique to VOLT electric bikes but there is an 'A' for automatic mode on their LCD. It will gradually step up in power to level 4 depending on how fast you pedal. So instead of manually pressing through to power level 4 it will automatically get you up to level 4 very quickly depending on how much you pedal. Fantastic feature. Though if you have never ridden an electric bike before, practice on level 1 first. Do not start on A mode or a higher than power level 1 as it is quite startling when the power kicks in and it starts to move! It is an odd sensation like somebody pushing your seat from behind. I was nervous at first but you will be riding along on level 4 in no time. I promise you it will make you feel like a kid with a new bike on Christmas day! The quality of this bike is superb. It feels very sturdy and looks the part. All electric bikes are very heavy, but this one is one of the lightest on the market at just over 21kg including the battery. I have a short 28" inside leg so one thing worth noting is that you may have to change the seatpost to a non suspension one if you like your feet on firmly on the ground. The suspension seatpost has to be set a bit higher as otherwise it will hit the top of the battery when you go over big bumps. When the supplied suspension seatpost is set on its lowest position the only the tips of my toes touch the ground. So I set it higher but I don't mind my toes not touching the ground. VOLT now have a newer model Metro LS which I found with the seat; even on its lowest; too high for me. I hope this review helps and definitely treat yourself to a VOLT for an excellent quality bike and customer service.
After carrying out some research into the best electric bike for me, I settled on the Volt Metro LS as I am only 5 feet tall and needed a bike that would fit me. I bought it through Compton Cyles in Catford, SE London. They were very helpful, arranging a test ride for me to make sure it was the correct choice. I have had the bike for just over a month now and have used it for several long rides. It does take a while to get used to getting the gears and the level of assistance right but that is to be expected. The workmanship on the bike is exceptional, all the joints are very secure and the materials used are of good quality. It is heavy, as are all electric bikes. When pushing up a slope, the walk assist really helps. When riding you don't notice the weight. The bike was bought to be used when we are travelling around in our camper van. I am delighted with it.
In the beginning we had been a bit cautious about buying an electric bike, visited numerous shops but nothing jump out, then we found Push Active in Devizes and bingo this one leapt out at us, the detail the the build quality was top notch, the computer and ride assist spot on, I have a knee problem and the wife ankle problems, we took a test ride and decided to buy 2, we have travelled some 35 miles on 1 charge with still life in the battery and they charge quite quickly all important on a boat, to sum up you will not be disappointed buying this bike we have done a few miles now and still can't wait to visit places on them.
Excellent company to deal with- did what they said they would- thanks
I bought this bike for my husband who uses it to get to mountains which are miles from where he has to park the car.. He also uses the cycle track and travels for miles and where necessary he gives himself a boost using the battery power to get him there with ease. His brother also has a Volt bike which he recommended to us in the first instance....thanks Volt
I love my Volt bike, which allows me to exercise and enjoy fresh air, without the pain of struggling up hills. Only improvement would be if the bike were a bit lighter - but I know it needs a big battery, and I'm very happy to have it!
As someone who didn't grow up on a bike I have never felt very confident when cycling, and have always been pathetic when it comes to hills! Now retired, my husband and I have recently treated ourselves to a folding Volt bike each. What a difference it has made to my experience of cycling! I now really enjoy our trips out together and can't wait for the better weather in the Spring so we can go out more. I have every confidence in my beautiful Volt bike - it feels solid and I know it won't let me down. It's so easy to fold and fits into the car easily. What more can I say? I just love it!
Bought two Volt Metro bicycles with the larger batteries! A Metro LS for my wife and a Metro for me! If you are looking for a fantastic form of transport then I would recommend the Volt. I use mine everyday for a 25 mile round trip commute over very hilly terrain. I cannot recommend this bike enough. Fantastic build quality, very quiet motor and great fun to ride! No longer do hills fill me with dread, can wear work clothes as you no longer sweat your cobbs of cycling! To say I love it is an under statement. Charging process takes about four hours use about a third of the battery on my commute! Bought them from Velo Smith in Plymouth who arranged a test ride! Volt after sales is very good. My wife and I are in our fifties and often go for long rides together. Get a Volt Ebike hit the trail and never look back, recommended!
I'm just so pleased with my low rise folding volt metro bike, being short it is such a fantastic design,it performs so well up hills,I would recommend this bike to any woman who wishes to exercise more with a bit of help Thankyou
This is an Excellent product. Very good price. Bought this for my wife so I get a bit more exercise when cycling with her. Also we can take it on holiday as I bought a fold up bike too. Plan to cycle along the Thames in London as we can take it on a train. Bike is fully equipped, with lights, bell mudguards and carrying rack. I did have to change the saddle and modify the saddle stem so that I could lower the saddle for my wife who is just 5 foot tall and likes to have her feet firmly on the ground. This was mentioned to me when I bought the bike so that's OK. All-in-all a great 5 star product and supplier.
I really purchased a Volt Metro LS bike. I have spent a long time thinking about purchasing an E bike and read many reviews.I think I made the right choice. The staff were very helpful, the bike is good quality and it does everything that it promises. Great no more hills to struggle up. However, being a 60 year old lady, on a fold away bike, passing young fit men on mountain bikes feels slightly embarrassing, but exillarating.
This is my second electric bike, the first being a Chinese import. The Volt bike is a huge improvement in every respect. It is built better, looks better, has more reliable power, gives more miles per charge and rides well. The 8-speed gears are well spaced and change smoothly and the brakes are powerful. It's a pity they haven't built in an electric horn rather than the bell. I now sail up hills that I used to have to get off and push on before. Can't wait to take it on holiday to France now.
Love the build quality, the easiness to get on/off, the throttle position (not on the handlebar itself), the (didn't think I'd use them) different levels of assisted pedal power. I haven't rode a bike in years, but my mobility is/was bad and I chose the bike over a (too soon) mobility scooter. Wow, it has opened up my world again. I love it so much, and every credit to the guy at Rivington Cycles in Chorley for taking the time to go through it all with me.
We bought two folding electric bikes from Volt in July this year, the Metro and Metro LS. We have been delighted with these bicycles that have more than fulfilled all our hopes. We are not sports cyclists and so our trips so far have been only about 15 miles, the batteries at that range show only one segment used! The settings allow for a "0" position where pedal assist is disabled but the throttle still operates. As the bikes are very easy to pedal without power, this provides an excellent facility for any downhill or flat sections. The suspension makes the ride very comfortable and we have never experienced any instability when riding over uneven ground.
An excellent choice, well done Volt!
after looking at various electric bikes we chose the volts we are in our 80th
and 75th years and found the hills a problem. now we seem to have shed
20 years what a pleasure to go out for a ride, the hills we love to chase the lycra boys up the hill and catch em .Many thanks to the A team at london voltbikes for their help and special thanks to Rileys cycle shop
in sherborne and the 3 lovely guys for their patience and help in explaining about the bikes no hard sell at any stage just customer service at its best.
regards
two born again bikers enjoying rural dorset
Great bike complimented by an even better customer service
I purchased the Metro folding and Metro LS for my partner and I as we are both reside in the City. These both bikes offer an exceptional ride during all weather and travel conditions. I was searching for a light, durable as well as stylish bike for my daily commute. After several weeks of searching and speaking with other cyclists, I came across Volt Bikes, their customer service and attention to my needs was parallel. And I have been very happy with their after-care support. I have had these bikes for 8-9 months now so had have a chance to use them during our various seasons and I can heartily confirm, the technology used is current and to a high standard. Will happily recommend Volt Bikes to colleagues, family and friends.
The new 2026 VOLT Metro LS takes everything great about the Metro and makes it even more accessible. With its low step-through frame, getting on and off is simple, no need to swing your leg high or awkwardly balance the bike. It’s ideal for riders who value comfort, confidence, and ease of use.
Like its sibling, the Metro LS folds down neatly for storage or travel, so it fits perfectly into busy city life. Power comes from a 250W rear hub motor working together with VOLT’s exclusive SPINTECH advanced torque sensor. This integrated system continuously senses how hard you’re pedalling and delivers just the right amount of assistance creating a smooth, natural, and highly intuitive cycling experience.
The Shimano 8-speed gears make light work of hills and flat roads alike, while Tektro hydraulic disc brakes deliver strong, reliable control in any conditions. The ride quality is superb, an SR Suntour suspension fork and Schwalbe Big Ben tyres absorb bumps and rough patches, while the Comfort Saddle keeps you comfortable mile after mile. The adjustable handlebars help you find your ideal riding position, whether you like to sit upright or lean forward a little more.
You can choose from two Panasonic battery sizes, offering up to 40 miles* of range per charge, and a full recharge takes just 3–4 hours. The clear LCD display shows your speed, distance, and power level, while integrated Spaninga LED lights and full SKS mudguards mean you’re ready for all-weather commuting.
The latest evolution of our SpinTech rear hub motor technology gives riders the best of both worlds through a choice between torque and cadence modes at the touch of a button. Torque mode delivers a natural, responsive ride by matching the motor’s assistance to the effort you put into the pedals, making it feel like an extension of your own power. Cadence mode, by contrast, provides smooth, consistent assistance as soon as you start pedalling, ideal for relaxed riding, effortless journeys, or when you want the bike to do more of the work. By allowing riders to switch between these two distinct riding experiences, VOLT offers a level of versatility that has not previously been available on any e-bike motor to date. While most competing systems require customers to choose one approach or the other, VOLT’s innovative SpinTech technology lets you adapt the bike to your preferences, terrain, and riding style at any time delivering greater comfort, control, and enjoyment from every ride.
For anyone looking for a compact e-bike that’s easy to ride, easy to store, and easy to love, the VOLT Metro LS delivers comfort and confidence every time you get in the saddle.
