B3 Battery Information
Turning on your VOLT ebike
To turn on your ebike, first press the button located at the top of the battery tube (just below the saddle). When the button is engaged, a blue ring will light up around it, indicating that the battery is powered on.
Then power on the display by pressing and holding the power button on the 3-Button Control Unit located next to the left hand side handlebar grip. The display will power up, showing the VOLT Bikes logo before starting in ECO mode.
Charging the Battery
Ensure the power is turned off on your battery before charging. Your VOLT B3 battery can be charged on or off the bike. The charging port is located underneath the saddle, just above the power button.
Each B3 Battery is supplied with an L-shaped charging adaptor, which connects to the charging cable to make connectivity to the charging port on the battery easier. The battery can be charged either on the bike, or removed and charged in your preferred location.
Removing the Battery
Before removing the battery – power off the battery and disconnect the power cable. To remove the battery, first turn off the power switch on the battery, then disconnect the power cable located at the rear-top of the battery – to do this twist the blue locking clip approximately 20 degrees anti-clockwise, then pull the connector out.
Next, open the seatpost tightening clamp (if this is locked you will first need to unlock it) and using the saddle for leverage lift the battery out of the bike frame.
Locking the Battery
The VOLT B3 battery is secured using the seatpost clamp, which also has a built-in locking mechanism. Once the clamp is closed, push the silver keyhole button down into the clamp body. When this button is pressed down, the clamp cannot be opened and the battery remains locked in place.
Ensure your saddle is set to the correct height before locking the clamp. To unlock, insert the key into the lock, press down, and turn it 90 degrees clockwise. The lock barrel will release and pop back up, allowing the clamp to be opened again.
Turning Off your ebike with B3 Battery
To turn off, press and release the button at the top of the battery - please note, the blue LED ring may remain illuminated for 5 to 10 seconds after powering off. This is normal.
Additional Information
If the B3 battery is left unused for five minutes, the display will turn off automatically. However, the battery will remain powered on. To wake the system, simply press and hold the power button on the display and the bike will reactivate.
