Lovely bicycle which is easy to use

Lovely Regent e-bicycle which is easy to use. I had to change the seat post to be able to fit the Buddyrider for my dog. Missing a bottle holder option but otherwise great bicycle. Efficient way of getting bicycle and excellent support for questions.

An Easy Decision

We booked a Volt Bike trial at Kinross . Met with Mark Sinclair of Sinclair Cycles , located in part of the old steading at Loch Leven Larder . Mark talked us through the bike and set us off on a ride round his bike track . Twice round we stopped 100 metres short of the bike shop and I asked my wife what she thought? She said she loved it . We went back to the shop , bought the Regent . Picked it up 2 days later , my wife still loves the bike and so do I . Take a demo and see what you think . Worked for us . Great bike and not as complicated as some we have tried out . So Very Happy

Volt Regent

I had test ridden this bike before purchase, and had read the manual before going out on it. Computers and myself don't mix, so when I got an error message on the display I hadn't a clue. I had not needed to use the power assist, but found that there was none when it was (a couple of miles from home). My friend had to google "error messages" to find out what the problem was. Apparently you should not press the power on button when your foot is on the pedal. Who knew? Certainly not the manual.
However, this was easily rectified by switching off, waiting 10 seconds and switching back on whilst standing next to the bike. I have now printed off a list of potential error messages and will take them with me. Not the bikes fault, but I had no idea that there were error messages. Perhaps this could be included with the bike?
The Regent itself is amazing. Volt were fast in despatching the bike, and Leith Cycles who delivered the bike to me were first class.

Ordered 2 volt bikes from Broadribb…

Ordered 2 volt bikes from Broadribb Banbury in February and they arrived 2 weeks ago a few weeks later than expected but was delighted with the product

Being an old criter having problems with my knees.

Being an old criter having problems with both knees and living in a very hilly town I needed to upgrade my bike to one with electric assistance.It had to be a step through, so choice was limited. I researched long and hard finally choosing the Volt Regent and after consulting with a chum who owns a bike shop about the gear system, I purchased it. No problems with purchase, Volt easy to contact and always pleasant and I received a follow up call a couple of month after purchase.
Brilliant choice, does all it says on the tin. Quality is exceptional wizzes up hill and down dale. As my old company boss used to say "buy cheap buy twice, buy the best cry once".

The best bike I ever bought!

Having read a lot of reviews about many different eBikes, I decided the Volt Regent was the bike for me.
I booked a test drive in that London and, kitted up with a face mask, gloves and alcohol gel (who'd have thought I would be writing that in a bike review!) tried out a Regent, and a Kensington for comparison.
The Volt guys were excellent at keeping the social distancing and other hygiene measures, and cheerfully made as many adjustments as I wanted to ensure I would find a comfortable riding position. The "test track" was the flat London streets, which made it clear an electric bike was going to be fun but I couldn't get a feel for how the bike would handle hills.
However, I went ahead and ordered the bike online to be delivered to my local bike shop. I was so lucky to get one of the last available bikes in stock!
After a couple of days, I rang the office to see where we were with the order, and, despite working from home, they had been ringing bike shops local to me to see who could take delivery. I suggested my actual nearest bike shop would be fine, which was just about the only one which didn't come up in their google research.
Once that was sorted, the bike was swiftly delivered - the additional lock chain was couriered directly to my home address - and I was on my way.
What an amazing bike! Looks great, and feels amazing to ride.
I couldn't wait to see how it handled the hills round this way, and I was delighted at how easy it makes cruising uphill.
Yes, you still have to pedal but to see the look on the lycra-clad guys' faces when you sail uphill without breaking sweat, carrying your picnic on the back rack in a wicker basket, is worth the expense alone!
I have barely used my car in lockdown and I am determined to cycle as many local journeys as I can through the surrounding country lanes, up and down hills, to the local towns.
My Volt ebike has rekindled my love of cycling for the fun of it, made eco-commuting a reality, and I am really quite unbearable smug about it!

Love my bike.x only bit that was not perfect was the stand is wobbly and not tight and I have not yet purchased an Allen key that fits it

When I decided to buy an e-bike

A new bike at age 75? Yes, this time it would be an e-bike! I wanted to support British enterprise and, if possible, to speak to the originators of my chosen model.
Volt were an ideal choice, with their Southwark store easily accessed. Staff answered my questions, offered a test ride and the bike was ready in days. The bike is splendid and after-sales service is good.

Regent

I bought a Regent, because I wanted a step through frame. It is an excellent bike, really enjoying riding it. The price is high (£2300) compared to others in the range, which may be partly due to having hub gears. Not sure they are any better than sprockets and derailleur.
It comes with a charger which you can use with the battery on or off the bike. My only niggle is that to charge the battery off the bike you have to buy a separate adapter. I wasn't told this by the retailer, so I will have to go back to get one. It seems silly that the connection is different depending where the battery is, and it's very annoying that the adapter isn't just included, which it should be for the money the bike costs.

Nearly 5 Stars but not quite !

Had this bike for a few weeks now and love it but it does have a few niggly issues. The built in bike lock is difficult to operate and sometimes won’t open and sometimes won’t lock which is very annoying. Also the battery does not lock tight into position so it wobbles about and did turn itself off when I was using it once ! Hope fully that was a one off. Other than that the bike is great it would have 5 stars if these issues were sorted out.
