Comedy Icon Out and About on the Volt Metro

BLOG   press   Comedy Icon Out and About on the Volt Metro

Volt Metro in London

He was one of the Brits favourites in the nineties and noughties, with record-breaking stadium tours and Hollywood biting his hand off for appearances. That was until Lee Evans announced his unexpected and early retirement from the limelight to become a family man.

Yes, it seems the award-winning comedian, known for his high-octane on stage performances appears to be a quietly contented family man as he was pictured riding his Volt Metro e-bike by Splash News over the August Bank Holiday. Major newspapers like The Sun, Metro and Daily Mirror were quick to pick up on it and write articles about it.

With appearances in blockbusters like The Fifth Element, MouseHunt and There’s Something About Mary, while performing to over half a million people on his standup tour in 2008, Evans seemed to have the world at his feet. Yet, when his manager died of a heart attack, Lee took stock and decided to ditch the fame and fortune for more time with the family. That doesn’t seem to have prevented the press interest in him however as he appears to be a real favourite with the British Paparazzi. Even a Yankees cap, shades and workman’s trousers couldn’t hide him from Splash News’ keen-eyed photographers!

Just like the man himself, the Metro is a really versatile ebike, great for zipping around town and conveniently subtle, we’re thrilled he chose us to help him get about his day to day business and hope it helps keep one step ahead of those persistent photographers!
