The Bike Station is a Scottish organisation with locations in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth and they are one of the main driving forces behind more Scots switching to pedal power.
We love what they’re about, so naturally we’re thrilled that the Glasgow branch are going to be stocking the latest VOLT™ range of e-bikes as well!

What motivated you to open/run a bicycle shop?
The Bike Station is Scotland’s largest, and one of its longest established, bike recycling charities. We
have three main charity objectives and these are the reasons that the bike station started;
- To encourage and promote good mental and physical health through encouraging people to cycle;
- To help people learn to ride their bicycles safely and to be able to repair them themselves;
- To help the environment by recycling and by promoting cycling as a means of transport.
What makes your store different from others?
The fact that we sell both new and refurbished bikes and new and refurbished parts and accessories.
We also run numerous other services such as Fix Your Own Bike workshops where users can hire a work stand and tools to fix their bikes for only £4 an hour. We also run a bike servicing and repair
workshop, offer cycle training lessons and bike maintenance classes. For corporate or community events we also run a

What is the funniest/strangest request you’ve ever had from a customer?
Asking us to collect a donated bike… in South Africa!

What is your favourite e-bike and why?
The Bigfoot fat tyre e-bike, because it has fat tyres!

Remember to charge it up – especially if you are going camping in the hills!
