Unlocking the Perfect Ride, The Standard’s Electric Bike Review

In a world saturated with electric mobility options, finding the right solution can feel like cracking the enigma. Countless brands now claim to be the best, influencers sing praises for every model they test, and the volume of choices can leave you feeling bewildered. How do you find the best electric bike that truly suits your needs?

Well, trusted reviews certainly offer a good starting point, and whether it’s a customer review or a revered tech journalist, at VOLT, we’ve never shied away from letting our e-bikes fall under the critical eye of independent reviewers. When it comes to our Infinity Hybrid E-bike, it’s been under the microscope of many a reviewer.

In addition to the 30+ verified customer TrustPilot reviews, last year, T3’s Rob Clymo bestowed a commendable 4-star out of 5 rating, hailing it as a “premium e-bike that’s great to ride, thanks to a cocktail of great features and functions”  Read full review here. In turn, Rebecca Bland included it into her Best electric hybrid bikes list of “do-it-all bikes that won’t hold you back” in Ebiketips.  In November, the accolades continued as TechRadar crowned it the Best E-bike of 2023 at the TechRadar Awards… Now, David Williams from the Evening Standard takes to the saddle and puts our machine to the test…

Back in the (VOLT) Saddle

Williams is no stranger to reviewing our electric bikes, he reviewed the VOLT London back in 2022 calling it the “Car Killer”. The Infinity seems to have equally impressed. Citing the quality components and the paint finish he reports akin to a “Pimped Lamborghini”.

A Game-Changer:

In his latest review, David continues to introduce our central crank model and its premium, high-end specs and a fully automatic gear system, setting it apart from the competition. As he navigates the cityscape, the 2 wheel hybrid seamlessly accelerates and adapts through the rider’s pedal patterns, courtesy of the Shimano Steps assist program. Despite the 15.5 mph speed limit, the power delivery is meticulously calibrated, ensuring a delightful and safe experience, even in low gears. The presence of the trusty Shimano S700 Alfine hydraulic brakes adds an extra layer of safety and confidence boost for any rider.

Key Features and Impressive Range:

In his article, David highlights all pivotal aspects, showcasing a removable 2.9 kg battery and its exceptional 90+ mile range. What sets it apart is its user-friendly design; unlike other e-bicycles reliant on smartphone connectivity, this model features a removable Shimano display. All functionalities are conveniently accessible on the display itself or through the accompanying app, providing users with flexibility for customisable power adjustments and cadence tweaks. During testing, the automatic setting, especially on High in factory mode, proved exceptional, surpassing manual gear changes and outperforming many car transmissions.

Making sure to offer an extra layer of protection, we offer an optional built-in GPS tracking for the convenience and security to the overall biking experience but mostly for a peace of mind.

The meticulous attention to detail extends to the finish, showcasing a superb matte paint job. The security chain, locking into the Abus Integrated Security Lock, is sheathed to prevent scratches when clamped onto the rear wheel while parked and offers yet another security measure against theft, as standard.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, Williams acknowledges the Infinity’s premium price tag but emphasises that it offers excellent value for money in terms of quality, customer care, British build, and fun! He seems interested enough in it to potentially buy his own! Watch this space…
