Following on from our Summer Solstice Special, there’s no better time to explore your own country — and no better way to do it than by e-bike!

Whether you’re gliding through coastal lanes or rolling into a new village pub each night, a VOLT e-bike makes the journey feel just as special as the destination.

So why not ditch the airport and discover more of the UK this summer — one cycle path, quiet road, or forest trail at a time?

We know from our customer feedback that many VOLT owners love taking their e-bikes on a staycation, so we thought we’d celebrate them and hopefully inspire others with some top UK stays, with e-biking in mind!

UK Destinations Made for E-bike Breaks

Here are a few top picks that pair beautifully with a VOLT e-bike and a thirst for adventure:

Cotswolds Charm (England)

Base yourself in one of the Cotswolds’ stone-built villages and enjoy a loop of winding lanes, thatched-roof pubs, and lavender fields. The Kensington or Infinity are perfect for country-road cruising and café hopping.

North Norfolk Coast (England)

Flat, peaceful and full of wildlife, this area is ideal for relaxed days in the saddle. Try the Metro or Lite for compact versatility — great if you’re hopping between B&Bs or carrying your bike by train.

Scottish Highlands and Islands

If you’re up for a wilder ride, try sections of the NC500 or island-hop through Mull or Arran. With the Pulse or Burlington, you’ll have comfort and power to spare on longer, hillier routes.

Brecon Beacons and Monmouthshire (Wales)

Cycle along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or head out into open moorland. Expect castles, valleys and some of the UK’s most underrated views — perfect for a low-traffic, big-sky adventure.

🚂 Train + Bike = Best of Both

Pair a folding e-bike like the Lite with rail travel for a seamless multi-stop holiday. Many UK trains are bike-friendly, and a foldable model makes it even easier to plan spontaneous detours.

Tips for a Successful E-bike Staycation

  • Plan ahead, but stay flexible: Book accommodation in advance during peak season, but leave time in your day to explore unexpected sights.
  • Check charging points: Most B&Bs are happy to let you charge overnight – just pack your charger and maybe a multi-socket if you’re travelling with friends (lots of accessories!).
  • Pack light: A good pannier or bike-mounted bag will carry your essentials. The extra boost from a VOLT motor makes light packing less critical – but your knees will thank you later.
  • Use local knowledge: Visit nearby bike shops, ask your hosts, or check the Sustrans National Cycle Network for scenic and safe route options.
  • Prepare for the British summer: Bring sun cream, a rain layer, and a sense of humour — the weather’s part of the adventure.

And when out on your e-adventures don’t forget to upload those selfies to our VOLT on the Road page
