The Volt Regent is another new addition to our family, taking inspiration from the popular Burlington model but powered by Shimano’s E6100 STEPS system.

The Regent includes the same features that makes the Burlington a smooth and comfortable ride such as an adjustable stem, sweeping handlebars, SKS mudguards and pannier rack with integrated front and rear light.

In addition this classic e-bike also offers some upgraded features. The suspension forks are air supported rather than spring loaded offering a lighter front end and more responsive ride. The forks also have a lock-out feature allowing the suspension to be ‘turned off’ if you don’t want the forks to absorb any energy you are generating when riding on smooth surfaces. Swapping derailleur gears for internal hub gears, the Regent sports the Shimano Nexus 8, a smooth and intuitive system with an easy to use twist grip makes gear changes effortless. The brakes have been upgraded from mechanical to hydraulic disc brakes offering a more powerful and responsive braking system.

Powered by Shimano’s latest STEPS system, the E6100 comes with a plethora of new features, including updated ergonomic controls, Bluetooth and wireless control abilities. The motor itself has also been updated in size and shape, creating more rigidity and better power transfer and has been reduced by 210g to a total weight of 2.88kg. This gives the motor 20% increase in efficiency and therefore a longer range and a smoother transition when pedalled past the 15.5mph assistant limit.
